Kidocold

Indications

Kidocold (Ketotifen) is used to help prevent asthma attacks. It will not relieve acute asthma attacks. Administered orally, Ketotifen is indicated as an add-on medication in the chronic treatment of mild atopic asthma in children
• Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
• Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including rhinitis and conjunctivitis

Dosage And Administration

For Asthma:
Infants and children from 6 months to 3 years of age – Dose is based on body weight. It is usually 0.05 mg/kg body weight twice daily. On average, ½ teaspoonfuls (2.5 ml) twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening or as directed by the registered physician.
Children of 3 years of age and older – The usual dose is 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) twice daily. Patients known to be easily sedated, ½ or 1 teaspoonful at night for the first few days or as directed by the registered physician.
